Educators continually improve their practice by learning from and with others and exploring proven and promising practices that leverage technology to improve student learning.

During my time working at WSCC I have completed many programs and professional development courses to contribute to my continued learning. Some of these continuing learning courses were Leadership Wallace State, WS FOCUS, IT Training, HR Training, Active Shooter Training and many more. Below are certificates from some of the courses I have participated in.

WS F.O.C.U.S: Follow On Course Until Successful is a program that was developed for new non-faculty participants. The participants are immersed in the Wallace State Way of treating students, co-workers, and themselves. The program consists of five Summits; About WSCC, About WSCC Campus, About Ourselves, Customer Service, and Valuing Diversity and Civility. Each Summit focuses on learning about what programs WSCC offers, facilities, understanding ourselves and how what we do affects student's lives and success factors.  How to treat the students and to understand the differences of each person the participants come in contact with and learning to treat each person with respect and understanding.

Leadership Wallace State has taken place for thirteen years. The mission of Leadership Wallace State is to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the participants in an in-depth, year-long study of the College and the Alabama Community College System and of a current, significant issue or concern impacting the College. Six learning events provide structure for the course. The events begin each September and subsequent class meetings are scheduled monthly during the regular academic year. The final session includes group presentations for cabinet. Participants are recognized at the end of each academic year.
